I love stop-motion wedding videos.

They creatively tell the whole wedding tale in a brief and clever way.

You get the vibe.

You live the day.

There is a ridiculously talented duo in New Zealand, Bayly & Moore, who are masters at their craft.

And they have made me an addict.

I echo Bayly & Moore’s toast:

Here’s to romance at 4 frames a second and couples who plan beautiful weddings …

It is a good time of year to look around the table and be thankful for who is seated there with you.  Many have brought their talents and energy to my table this year and I am grateful.

Thank you for your courage and creativity.
Thank you for your poise and patience.
Thank you for your flexibility and foresight.
And most of all, thank you for your humor.

Cheers to you… because you were a part of it, each day and each event was perfect … because of you, I was better than I ever could have been alone.
Cheers to a very successful and fulfilling year… and the next to come.

A very special thanks to each and everyone one of you:

Before the invention of the printing press in 1447, wedding invitations were delivered by means of town crier.  All those within earshot were considered a part of the celebration.

Today the wedding invitation is the first glimpse of the feeling and tone of the day.  It tells guests what to expect and is a tease about what is to come.

I have a grand appreciation for wedding invitations that are simple and quirky.
This invitation by Irish photographer/graphic designer Annie Atkins may be my favorite one ever.

Halloween is the most wonderful time of the year.

Here are a few peeks of the Annual Pumpkin Carving Party from recent years – including the silly, sparkly and spooky sprouts strutting down the street in the fun and festive kids’ costume parade.

Oh, the spirits.  Oh, the laughter.  Oh, the memories.

I applaud Kevin Weinstein for sharing his words and thoughts from a photographer’s perspective that encourage all of us in the wedding industry to remain “inspired”… and at the same time gently reminds us to honestly represent our work.

From Kevin’s point of view:

“Over the past 7 years, workshops have exploded among the “names” in the industry holding 1, 2, 3-day and even week-long retreats offering newbies a chance to define their craft while shooting fake weddings with Ford models at workshops around the globe.  I have watched many photographers put these images on their blogs and personal web pages as if they shot these images at a wedding event on a Saturday.  Why is this problematic?  First off , it is lying and misleading your potential client.  False advertising.  And it is misrepresenting your ability to make pictures under deadlines and real time.  A bride is going to expect this level of imagery from her wedding.”
