Before the invention of the printing press in 1447, wedding invitations were delivered by means of town crier. All those within earshot were considered a part of the celebration.
Today the wedding invitation is the first glimpse of the feeling and tone of the day. It tells guests what to expect and is a tease about what is to come.
I have a grand appreciation for wedding invitations that are simple and quirky.
This invitation by Irish photographer/graphic designer Annie Atkins may be my favorite one ever.
